About
We are focused on how we can make older adults' desire to age-in-place at home a reality with the continuing care at home (CCaH) model.
Our Story
From an early age, our founder and CEO Amanda Young was surrounded by healthcare. Amanda’s mom was a nurse in various hospitals and later became a school nurse so she could spend time raising Amanda and her sister. Like many mothers, she was the heart of the home and her community. Amanda saw firsthand how her mother looked out for the older adults living next door and would strike up conversations with passersby.
In many ways, her mother’s influence was the foundation for Amanda’s career in aging services and honoring her mother’s memory was the inspiration for MAL Consulting. Although Amanda lost her mom at an early age, she has ensured her legacy lives on in the work we do to care for older adults. Those early life experiences were pivotal in how Amanda’s career unfolded, from working as a direct care aide and dining server at a retirement community, to later working with older adult protective services and advocating for older adults to age in place at home through the continuing care at home (CCaH) model.
Surveys show that older adults want to age-in-place at home, and many do not have a plan or the financial resources to live in a traditional continuing care retirement community. For MAL Consulting, we are focused on how we can make that desire a reality with the continuing care at home (CCaH) model, which is more accessible for working class and middle-income individuals.
